So today as I was clearing trails with my family I came upon a birds nest in a pile of brush. From the limited light and difficult angle this scene immediately drew my attention. Here are a few different variations of the same nest with varying light allowance and angles. My favorite ended up being the first shot I took simply because it gives an overview of the scene and is in my opinion the best lightedbof all seven. From this perspective you can see what the bird was trying to do by camouflaging its nest and at the same time catches justbenough light to see the eggs.

Wow, that is an impressive find. I probably wouldn't have noticed it. I really like the fourth picture because I honestly couldn't find the eggs at first in the first picture. Just zooming in that little bit and brightening up the eggs really help showcase the eggs hidden in the next. Lucky you to find such a treasure.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda, it was actually my father who saw the mother bird run out of the nest and brought his attention to the eggs. I was thrilled that I could get a good picture because at the time I had only my phone to work with!
DeleteI really like the second picture because the eggs seem to be illuminated in the darkness of the hidden nest.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that! I like the 5th pic...the eggs are still kind of hidden in the shadows!
ReplyDeleteI like the 4th picture because the eggs seem to be highlighted the best in this particular photo. It shows the beautiful coloring of the eggs. I also like 3 because while you can still see the eggs, it shows how the nest was built to hide. It's amazing how nature works!
